The Benaulim-Cavelossim MDR road at certain places in Orlim is grossly over illuminated with the LED lamps on one side of the road and also by the decorative ornamental incandescent lights on the other side which consume excessive electric power.
It is quite sensible to put off or disconnect the ornamental lights now that the entire MDR road is decently illuminated by the power saving LED street lights. However, it would be wise if the energy saved could be used to provide street lights to all roads, paths and accesses in the villages. The ornamental lights seem to have become obsolete and outdated after the entire street lighting programme is being undertaken under the SLNP program by EESL.
