This is a reality – we either do it deliberately or we lack proper upbringing to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in our surroundings.
One of the local bunds in Salvador do Mundo village, which was pristine with its greenery and clean environment, is now becoming a sore sight for the villagers, particularly elders, who often visited the spot for an evening stroll or go down fishing.
In spite of all efforts by local authorities to create awareness to keep the bund clean, garbage dumps keep increasing everywhere and are strewn recklessly with ‘I don’t care attitude,’ which is not in keeping with present, considering our lifestyles and modern living.
Many a time, we point fingers, little realising we ourselves are the problem for creating such a situation.
We must care for our village, and keep it clean and green.
