The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has reportedly begun de-weeding and removal of hyacinth at the Maimollem Lake, in Vasco. It must be said that the port town has very little to offer to the tourists by a way of entertainment except for the Baina Beach.
The Maimollem Lake has huge potential of being a tourist attraction. The lake could be developed for leisure and water sports on the lines of Mayem Lake.

Various water sports such as pedal boating, canoeing, and kayaking could be held at the lake. If developed for recreation it could also provide self-employment for the youth of Vasco.
