VALPOI: The residents of Majik Vaddo of Budruk Karmali village in Valpoi constituency are facing a host of problems such as irregular water supply, lack of streetlights and no proper road.

They have been complaining to the concerned authorities for several years, but their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

The water tanker making the rounds of Majik Vaddo rarely brings sufficient water.

The locals have been forced to use the dirty water from the village well for the domestic purpose for four decades.

There are around 20 houses in Majik Vaddo and the locals claim that they have raised these issues at the Sanvordem gram sabha on several occasions, and accuse the panchayat of its failure to act in this regard.

The residents also complained that they have made several visits to the Water Supply Department Office in Valpoi and also the PWD Road Division office and submitted the memorandum to the Assistant Engineers with regards to the irregular water supply to their ward and for the construction of road.

However, the locals claim that the officials of both the departments failed to act on these serious issues.

Besides these issues, the Majik Vaddo temple is in very bad shape and needs urgent repair. The locals say they are ready to donate their land for the construction of road in their ward and are willing to provide their land for the construction of the water tank.

“We are facing the acute water shortage problem in our village. Also there is no street light in our village. Our panchayat is not serious with our problems. Our panch is not informing us about any government scheme,” complained Savarna Gaonkar, a resident.

“We demand that the Government clean our village well and provide us with clean water on a regular basis,” demanded Datta Paryekar, a senior citizen.

Vishwas Gaonkar said, “We have already submitted a memorandum to the concerned department demanding the regularly water supply to our ward, construction of a road and improve power supply. But till date no one has taken any action. I am ready to donate my land for the construction of the road and the water tank in our ward.”

“Our local MLA never visits our ward and is not bothered about our problems,” said Madhu Paryekar.

106-year-old Babi Paryekar wants the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to visit Majik Vaddo and get himself acquainted with their problems and solve them immediately.
