GGF pointed out the bridge was a hotspot and a safe haven for many drug-peddlers and users. It was also becoming a drinking spot for youngsters, who sat and obstructed traffic.
The Foundation complained suo moto to the South Goa Collector, the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Police, and the police inspectors of Colva and Cuncolim.
It demanded stern action against the menace within 30 days, failing which it would approach the High Court.
GGF’s demands include: regular patrolling every half hour, patrolling in plainclothes to nab drug peddlers and users, use of alcometers to check drinking, prohibition of vehicles from parking, erection of no stopping boards, use of CCTVs to check illegal activities, notification of speed limits to restrict stunt-performers, and prohibition of sitting on the bridge.
