The road adjacent to Dr Anil Gaunekar’s clinic in Ponda has developed potholes. As a result, travellers face great risk and danger while proceeding along this strategic location. Many vehicles use this route throughout the day. One can analyse the existing dangerous situation during rainy showers when water accumulates inside the potholes.
At night there is every possibility of a mishap taking place, thereby causing serious injuries to precious human lives.
There is an urgent need to fill up the potholes on prompt basis so that safety is assured to innocent travellers. Roads in other locations of this important town (of course, including the internal roads) should also be inspected on priority basis. Necessary repair work if needed should be undertaken at once so as to end the hardships of travellers and
pedestrians alike.
During a recent function organised to mark the 6th State ‘Road Safety Week’ at Curchorem, the PWD Minister Mr. Ramkrishna Sudin
Dhavalikar said that accidents on Goan roads would decrease in case
people observe rules and regulations. But this alone won’t help in achieving positive results. Equally important is improving the condition of each and every road that deserves timely attention. Better condition of roads would go a long way in assuring a better infrastructure.
Let us hope that the concerned authorities would levy a sympathetic consideration to above important matter and undertake prompt favourable action in bringing the declining condition under firm control. This would ultimately go a long way in assuring safety to travellers at large.
