Portuguese-era pergola at Miramar repaired

I brought to the notice of the government in Citizen-Herald in mid-October 2017 that the Pergola at Miramar, which during Portuguese times was frequented by Panjimites for refreshments, had been getting dilapitated and appearing shabby over the years.
Lately, even a section of the wall was destroyed by certain miscreants and bad elements.
Fortunately, the government seems to have taken the issue seriously and got it repaired soon. The reason may have been the International Film Festival, but nevertheless we are happy that the repair was undertaken.
But I would like to point out that the mound of sand at the side is still seen even now.
I hereby thank the government and IFFI authorities for the renovation and repair of the Pergola. I understand that the work is in progress in different departments and things will be better soon.
