Power sub-station need of the hour at Calangute

The setting up of a power sub-station has been hanging fire for several years after Calangute being a famous tourist hub, attracting a large number of tourists.
There are several hundred big, small and medium hotels providing accommodation to the tourists, most of which have ACs rooms. Hence the village consumes a huge amount of electricity which is supplied to Calangute via Arpora and Saligao. However, the power supply is very erratic. Calangute needs its own sub-station. I simply fail to understand why the authorities have not been able to carry out such a simple and necessary task. If one can get a licence for running a liquor shop on the beach (where consumption of alcohol is banned) why can’t the villagers get a sub-station which is a crying need? I hope the concerned authorities take note.
