Provide lock for transformers

Although the aspect of trimming branches of trees appearing over the live electrical wires is levied greater significance, the matter of providing locks for transformers existing along the main road seems to be neglected. Over the years we come across transformers lying in an exposed condition at different spots thereby turning it risky for pedestrians proceeding along the said locations. In case any pedestrian comes in contact with the live electrical wires, he is most likely to receive electric shock thereby even leading to his death. In Ponda, a transformer existing in an exposed condition was recently noticed adjacent to Coelho Apartments in the vicinity of Old bus-stand and another adjacent to Kurtarkar Commercial Arcade at Kaziwada. Some transformers are noticed in half-open condition as the door of transformer is tied with the help of a  string. Above all, there is no suitable locking system for transformers and hence the door gets opened during winds. However in terms of assuring safety to precious human lives it is absolutely necessary that proper locks are provided for transformers, almost in line with the locks provided for letter-boxes by the postal authorities. This will keep the door intact on a permanent basis thereby providing safety to pedestrians including innocent school children. I request the higher officials at the electricity department to take a serious note of this important suggestion and initiate prompt favorable steps in this direction without any further delay. Precious human lives must receive protection at all costs.
