The photo shows a large spotted ray-fish about to be cut into pieces by the fish-cutter to be sold at the Vasco fish-market. It really pains to see such huge beautiful creation of the Almighty God are being caught and consumed. There are always small fish available in the market which can be enjoyed by fish-lovers. These large fishes take several years to grow this size and it takes a few minutes to catch them to be sold in the market. Even fish-lovers will probably agree that large fish should not be caught for consumption. There are several videos available on the internet which shows how in foreign countries massive fishes which are stranded on the shore are rescued by pushing them back into the sea. Of course catching a large fish means more profit for the fishermen. There is probably no law which bans catching of very big fishes. However it would be desirable for the fishermen to refrain from catching big fish and even if they are caught in the net, these fishes need to be let out into the sea so that they can swim back gracefully and with a grateful heart.
Refrain from catching big fish
