For over two years one can see a concrete slab placed over a water valve chamber along the road near Matrushala at Dhavali in Ponda lying in a damaged condition.
Almost half the portion of this slab has been found missing and iron rods can be seen protruding and exposed.
The situation proves dangerous for pedestrians and commuters who use this spot for boarding buses towards Queula, Ramnathi, Talaulim and the neighbouring villages.
Students too use this road to walk to schools and back. Accidents can happen, if someone inadvertently steps on it and hurts themselves in the process.
The concerned authorities should take a serious note of this and initiate swift action in replacing the damaged slab with a new one before any tragedy occurs at this strategic spot.
The situation has remained unchanged as on January 20 at 7am.
