Time and again we had been complaining to PWD, Works Division III (water) either in writing or verbally, about the water shortage in Caranzalem. But no action is forth- coming, with the result people are suffering for years together now.
The old pipes have to be replaced with bigger pipes since the people living in Caranzalem have increased manifold, especially with new housing colonies sprouting there.
People have to obtain water through tankers almost everyday which they can hardly afford due to high cost of living in Goa.
This State is very small in size, smaller than a district of Karnataka, Maharshtra, Uttar Pradesh and ruled by ministers, MLAs, MPs and top officers but still they cannot govern properly. We are far behind compared to other bigger States and these States are ruled better than Goa.
Now that bye-election for Panjim is approaching, I request the people of Caranzalem to force the prospective candidates to first provide them water or else threaten not to vote any of them.
This is the only time our prospective MLAs will listen to people and this is the only time we are their masters.
