Cattle have been spotted grazing, while some are seen squatting near the roundabout at Tonca and even some are involved in bullfights in street corners thereby posing a danger to motorists commuting along the route. The problem will intensify due to the ban on sale of cattle. The owners have left these non-productive cattle to roam on the streets due to high maintenance cost. The problem has grown manifold and it appears that the cattle have a fondness for resting on roads. Driving especially at night has become dangerous as these cattle block the road by squatting especially in the dark areas. Goa cannot have canines and cattle roaming on the streets and beaches as it portrays the State in poor light. The government needs to take urgent steps to stem this problem.
