During recent times the number of stray dogs at the municipal market at Upper Bazaar in Ponda has increased tremendously.
The menace proves dangerous for the lives of people visiting this premise in large numbers. There is every possibility of dogs biting people sooner or later.
In case, the concerned dogs happen to suffer from rabies, then the victim will definitely be confronted with greater risk and danger.
At other locations in Ponda too this menace has increased to a great extent. The Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) as a competent authority has not yet initiated any favourable actions in order to restrict this serious menace.
It is absolutely necessary that safety is assured to public on a permanent basis. Let us hope that at least now some positive steps would be initiated in this regard in public interest.
