Unhygienic conditions in and around SGPDA market

The SGPDA market is one of the most frequented markets in Margao but sanitation there is non-existent. Discarded vegetable waste and rotting fruit jostle for space with packing crates, overflowing drains, cows and dogs. Vehicles are parked haphazardly adding to the clutter, a strong stench pervades the whole area. How are the health inspectors allowing the market to function? The conditions during the monsoons becomes worse, the government authorities should do something to improve the hygiene standards. Shopping there is a very unpleasant experience.
