VALPOI: For the last four months, the college bus of the Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim is lying unused as there is no driver to drive it.
Due to the absence of a driver, the students who are travelling, especially from the rural villages of Sattari and Bicholim Talukas, are facing hardships.
Besides the students, the staff is also facing the problem as they are supposed to travel by college bus, when they visit outside the Sanquelim jurisdiction, for college related functions and sports activities with the students.
According to college students, there is no driver to drive the college bus. The driver, who was there, was transferred to somewhere else by Director of Education Department.
“The students met the Principal and asked the reason behind stopping the college bus. The Principal informed that the bus driver who transferred to another college and he has written a letter to the Director of Education Department to provide the college with a new driver. But till date they have not taken any action,” says Laxman Zore, a student.
“Now almost four months have passed there is no drive for our college bus, which is lying unused. So we demand to the government to provide a driver for our college bus, says another student.
