PANJIM, OCT 1 A total of 51.82 per cent seats have been reserved for the forthcoming municipal polls to be held in the State on October 31. The polls will see a total of 32.11 per cent reservation for women. According to the notification issued by the Director of Municipal Administration, out of the 137 seats in 11 municipalities, 71 seats have been reserved for various categories.

A total of 51.82 per cent seats have been reserved for the forthcoming municipal polls to be held in the State on October 31. The polls will see a total of 32.11 per cent reservation for women.
According to the notification issued by the Director of Municipal Administration, out of the 137 seats in 11 municipalities, 71 seats have been reserved for various categories.
In all 44 seats will be reserved for women. 31 seats will be reserved for women in general category, 2 for ST women and 11 for women in Other Backward Classes.
11 seats each have been reserved for general ST and OBC candidates.
In total, 27 wards have been reserved for OBCs, 13 have been reserved for STs.
Women have a share of 32.11 per cent reservation, with 44 seats (including OBC, ST women) in 137 wards.
The nomination for the forthcoming polls will start from October 4.
The Margao Municipal Council will have eleven wards reserved for various categories.
These include wards 2, 7, 13, 16 and 19 for women in general category, ward 4 for ST women and ward 10 has been reserved for OBC women while ward 3 has been earmarked for ST in general category and wards 8, 15 and 17 have been reserved for OBC in general.
The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) will have seven wards reserved for women. Wards 2, 4, 13, 16 and 19 have been reserved for women in general category, ward 7 has been reserved for ST women, ward 10 for OBC women while in the general category, ward 3 has been earmarked for ST and wards 5, 14 and 18 for OBC.
For Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) total five wards have been earmarked for women — these include wards 4, 8, 12, 14 for women in general category and ward 1 for OBC women.  There is no reservation for ST women in Mapusa.  Ward 11 has been reserved for ST and wards 5 and 13 for OBC for general category.
For Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CMC) four wards have been reserved for women, these include 1, 4, 10 and 7, while ward 7 has been reserved for OBC women.
In general, ward 11 has been reserved for ST and ward 6 for OBC.
For Quepem Municipal Council (QMC) total five wards have been reserved.  Of these, wards 7 and 10 are marked for women and ward 1 for OBC women.  And in general, ward 6 for ST and ward 2 have been reserved for OBC.
Five wards have been reserved in Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC), which include wards 7 and 10 for women, ward 1 for OBC women. Whereas wards 2 and 9 for ST and OBC in general.
There are also five wards reserved in Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) as 1 and 10 for women, ward 7 for OBC women, and wards 3 and 9 for ST and OBC in general.
Pernem Municipal Council (PMC) too has five wards reserved — wards 1 and 10 for women and ward 7 for OBC women whereas ward 9 has been reserved for ST and ward 3 for OBC in general.
For Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) wards 1 and 7 have been reserved for women and ward 10 for OBC women and wards 8 and 9 for ST and OBC respectively.
In Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) wards 1 and 7 have been reserved for women, ward 10 for OBC women and wards 4 and 5 for ST and OBC respectively.
Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) too has five wards reserved  for  various categories  — these include  ward 7, and 10  for women, ward 1  for  OBC women, and  in  general  category — wards 3  and 8 have been  reserved for ST and OBC  respectively.
