While sarpanch Deepak Kharangate informed the members that the panchayat would collect dry garbage from individual households if demanded by the members, members resolved that the issue could be discussed at the next gram sabha while agreeing to take care of individual garbage.
Discussion was held on need to enforce households to follow necessary sanitary norms while renting rooms. Kharangate explained to villagers that it was the duty of the individual citizen to keep the area one resides in clean and warned that if there was complaint in regard to sanitation, the panchayat would act and action initiated against the person violating the norms.
The sarpanch was grilled by villagers over the thick growth of vegetation along the village roads not being attended to and cleared.
Kharangate informed villagers that he had approached the Public Works Department (PWD) and asked them to clear and cut the growth along the roads, however, till date the PWD authorities had failed to take action in this regard.
Villagers also raised the issue of the increase in the number of stray dogs in the village causing menace to public. Sarpanch clarified that he had earlier written to animal rescue squad and advised villagers that they need to cooperate and not leave puppies on the roads. He called on villagers to cooperate and take necessary steps to curtail the menace.
