PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday visited Dharbandora Taluka and along with PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar held a review meeting with the government officials on COVID-19 situation and the damages caused due to Cyclone Tauktae.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister urged the panch members, government officials to encourage people to go for COVID-19 testing, vaccination to make Dharbandora, a COVID free taluka.
He said, “There are around 300 active cases in the taluka and urged the people not to stay at home and get themselves tested in case of any COVID like symptoms so that they can be in better position to fight the virus.”
“Dharbandora Taluka is not much affected by Cyclone Tauktae and that those affected would be compensated. There were few cases of tree falling which were cleared by the government machinery. The water supply and power supply is smooth in Dharbandora Taluka,” said Sawant.
“Dharbandora Taluka Government Office Building has Deputy Collector and soon government will appoint Mamlatdar and Zonal Agricultural Officer,” he added.
The Chief Minister assured to bring all round development of newly formed Dharbandora Taluka by providing all basic facilities.
PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said that Dharbandora locals face hardship during emergency calls and need a fully equipped fire station so that they are not forced to rely on Ponda and Curchorem Fire Stations.
