VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday assured to solve the staff shortage issue of Chicalim Sub District Hospital within three months time.
During surprise visit to the hospital, the Chief Minister informed that the operation theatre (OT) and dialysis unit will be functional within two months time.

Dr Sawant observed that the operation theatre has not started due to the shortage of anaesthetist staff.
Further commenting on the staff shortage, Dr Sawant said that as per his knowledge the hospital needs two medical officers, one paediatrician, one orthopaedic, nurses and housekeeping staff. Within few days this issue will be solved.
He also assured to get the operation theatre’s work complete shortly and to make arrangement of an ambulance for the hospital which is very crucial.
When asked Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho about the Chief Minister’s visit to the hospital, he informed that the CM discussed various issues with Health Officer Dr Borkar and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. He told asked Rane to solve all the issues and also assured to give his approval to all the pending matters.
Godinho added that the old structure near the hospital will be partially demolished for the purpose of parking space and the remaining part will be utilised for mortuary etc.
