PANJIM: As Goa grapples with rising cases of heinous crimes, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday blamed “outsiders” for the current law and order situation in the State.
Sawant said that ‘outsiders’ are responsible for the maximum number of law and order issues in the State.

“In maximum incidents, people from outside the State are involved,” said Sawant. He also claimed that police have control over the law and order situation and in 99 per cent of cases detection of the culprit happens within 24 to 72 hours.
Further, Sawant said that jail administration will henceforth be managed by PI and SP level officials of Goa Police.
CM was speaking to media persons after paying a surprise visit to the Colvale Jail. CM interacted with the staff and inmates of the jail and reviewed the security arrangements and administrative functioning of the Jail.
He also instructed officials to undertake necessary administrative changes.
Sawant said that administration at the jail will be streamlined with a focus on better overall control, health facilities for inmates and enhanced training facilities for inmates as well as staff.
