Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday congratulated the people of Goa for maintaining peace in the State during the period when a series of desecrations of religious symbols were reported
“I should congratulate people of Goa for maintaining peace. We have averted possible tension,” he said on the Floor of the House, accepting the demand put forth by Congress MLA Pratapsingh Rane that the government should not allow such religious symbol to come up on the roadside
Parrikar said that directions have been issued to all religious institutions to install CCTV cameras wherever required
Earlier, the ruling and opposition MLAs urged the government to ensure such incidents do not happen again and that people’s sentiments are not hurt
