CM distributes grants to schools

PORVORIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Friday distributed sanction letters of financial grants, to the primary schools in Konkani and Marathi medium, at the Education Department, at Porvorim.

A total of Rs 19,12,400 grants were sanctioned for a total of 23 schools with 4781 students studying in it. “To avail one’s education in mother tongue is agreeable to this current BJP government, and in the last four years, when there have were proposals for new schools and our government has given agreement, only to those schools, which will provide primary education in either Konkani or Marathi” said Parsekar
Further mentioning, Institutions, who want government grants should show their construction license, plan and NOC to the department, without which the government cannot release the grants.
Also mentioning those schools, who have benefited by the old scheme will be adjusted, by this new scheme and the institutions will get grants every year, and there is no limit of 1 lac and the amount will be released only by counting the number of student’s i.e more students more amounts will be granted by the government.
A total of 58 schools had applied and today a total of 21 school proposals have been cleared and 35 proposals of schools are under process.
