PANJIM: With the current term of the Assembly coming close to an end, the government has speeded up the pace of work.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday instructed government officials and heads of departments (HoD) to complete the process of recruitment as well as the process of launching of new reforms, initiatives and schemes that are to be initiated or implemented latest by December 31 this year.
The Chief Minister also asked them to expedite the process of laying the foundation stones and inauguration of new projects within the next three days.
A meeting of officials of Goa government has been convened on Thursday to discuss and speed up the process of recruitment of vacancies in various government departments so as to complete them on or before December 31 this year. The Chief Minister will chair the meeting.
As per the three-point agenda, officials have been asked to furnish the details of the ongoing recruitment process and new projects in the given format.
With an eye on the ensuing Goa Assembly elections, the Chief Minister on the Revolution Day (June 18) had announced that the government will fill nearly 10,000 posts in various government departments.
Following this many government departments started the process of filling vacancies by advertising them. Also, many candidates have answered the written exams, while others have been issued call letters asking them to appear for a written test at the given centres.
The government wants to complete the inauguration of various infrastructure projects on December 19, on the completion of 60 years of Goa’s Liberation.
