CM hopes to restart mining in New Year

PANJIM: Exuding confidence that the government would be able to restart mining next year, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, “We should be in a position to put the things in order in relation to mining in the State is concern,” in the New Year.

PANJIM: Exuding confidence that the government would be able to restart mining next year, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, “We should be in a position to put the things in order in relation to mining in the State is concern,” in the New Year. 
Parsekar said that he was looking into all aspects of mining and that he would consider the opinion of all stakeholders on the issue.
Parsekar admitted as genuine the demands of truck owners and drivers, saying,, “they were also out of business for three years and now they feel they should get proper income.”
Parsekar was hopeful that all issues relating to mining would be solved in the New Year paving the way for restarting the operations.
An intense dispute has erupted between the mining truck owners and Sesa Goa over ore transportation rates. Since the company has rejected the demand for higher rate, the truckers have blocked transportation of ore by Sesa.
