PANJIM: The State government on Tuesday launched Citizen Service Centres (CSC) in four talukas to cater to the requirements of the people by bridging the gap between the government offices offering public service and the citizens.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant rolled out the service across Ponda, Honda, Sanguem and Canacona in the presence of Deputy CM Vijai Sardesai, IT Minister Rohan Khaunte and the legislators representing the respective four constituencies. The centres hitherto were functioning at Salcette and Quepem talukas.
“The CSC will help residents of the respective four talukas to avail different services online with minimum efforts. We will add more services to these centres. Presently, services coming under Revenue, Labour and Employment and Transport can be availed of,” Sawant said adding that the BJP-led government is for the common man.
Khaunte assured that these centres will be opened in all other talukas as the government intends to start CSC outlets in Bicholim, Bardez, Mormugao, Pernem, Tiswadi and Dharbandora shortly followed by other talukas.
“E-governance becomes a very important part of digital India, a very important part for delivering time-bound services. It is the most easiest and convenient method to avail various services,” he added.
The government has appointed M/s Infotech Corporation of Goa as the State designated agency to build infrastructure for CSCs and M/s Goa Electronics Limited as the operational partner for expanding the CSCs across the State.
