PANJIM: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar today met stakeholders from the tourism sector over anxiety voiced by them in view of time restriction on operations of bars and restaurants from April 1.
The stakeholders had submitted a memorandum to the government Monday and Parrikar met a delegation led by Calangute MLA Michael Lobo today. The CM has assured tourism stakeholders that he would find solutions to their grievances and is likely to announce the same in his budget on Wednesday.
The stakeholders, who include owners of hotels, night clubs, bars and restaurants, have urged the government for certain relaxations and levy of fees based on categories which would allow them to keep their establishments open between 11
pm and 1 am and from 11
pm to 4 am.
