MARGAO: Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar on Thursday sought to reassure Xaxtikars that Dabolim will continue to stay and asserted that Mopa airport will become a reality within four years.

During an informal chat with newsmen on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new South Collectorate building on Thursday evening, Parrikar said that Mopa airport will be a Greenfield airport which be built within the next four years costing Rs 2,000 crore.

“There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind about the future of Dabolim. This airport will continue to stay even in the event of Mopa becoming a reality. Dabolim has reached a saturation point. We need Mopa to take care of the future requirements, including cargo handling,” he said.
