PANJIM: For the first time after returning from AIIMS, Delhi, CM Manohar Parrikar was taken for a medical checkup at Goa Medical College on Sunday morning.
The Chief Minister’s Office claimed that Parrikar was taken for a routine checkup. “CM undergoes routine checkup at Goa Medical College,” his personal secretary Rupesh Kamat said in a media statement.
Sources stated that Parrikar was at the hospital for more than an hour during which various tests were conducted on him. “The details of the tests conducted and checking done are kept confidential. It was more like a routine check up,” the source said.
Parrikar has been recuperating at his private residence since October 14 when he was discharged from AIIMS where he was admitted in mid-September. An ICU has been created at his residence with doctors and nurses kept on their toes to take care of him.
He has been holding a series of meetings at his residence and also chaired the Cabinet and State Investment Promotion Board meetings recently.
Three Members of Parliament AYUSH minister Shripad Naik, Narendra Sawaikar and Vinay Tendulkar, met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday, which they said was a courtesy visit.
