PANJIM: Pilerne Citizens Forum has written to the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar urging him to de-notify the notified Regional Plan 2021 and to revisit with draft RPG2021.
The forum has also given a deadline of six months to take swift action considering the enormity of the issue.

“RP 2021 which has been notified for all the talukas of Goa have many ingredients which were never recommended by the task force. However, the same figure in the notified plan putting the people of Goa to great surprise. The said features like abolition of VP 3 status, non-compliance with the mandate of the people with respect to the VP status of their respective villages and setting up eco tourism zones, helipads, house boats and floating hotels have suddenly sprung up from nowhere, to name a few in the finally notified RP 2021 and have created a mist of suspicion,” Bandodkar said.
Further, the Forest department final report of the state level expert committee which was forwarded by the forest department to the chief town planner consists of eg identification of private forest land in the state of Goa, land covered by plantation tress belonging to the government and those belonging to private persons like coconut tree, areca nuts, cashew trees.
