PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has again urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an immediate solution to the mining issue.
During the video-conference meeting with the Prime Minister, CM Sawant stressed that mining was the backbone of Goa’s economy. “I have impressed upon the PM to restart mining as the economy has to restart after the COVID lockdowns,” Sawant told the media.
Sawant said he presented the economic report to the PM during the video conference. The Chief Minister also said that he urged the PM to clear the backlog of the GST compensation. “The State’s GST compensation backlog is around Rs 750 cr,” he said.
“Requested him to restart mining at the earliest and also to clear GST compensation backlog,” the CM said.
