PANJIM: Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said that the next cabinet meeting scheduled on February 28 (Wednesday) will be chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
“Chief Minister will be taking the next cabinet meeting on Wednesday, he has indicated this. If need be we can do some changes otherwise everything is slated. All will be well from Tuesday, this is the message we have got from the cabinet meet and things will start from Tuesday,” Sardesai said, speaking to the media after the Assembly session.
He said, “People are amazed and relieved now that nothing is what like it was portrayed. We had given support to the government only because of Parrikar and you can see that in the letter addressed to the Governor. The people should be proud that Goa has a Chief Minister like him. Parrikar’s entry was like a bang.”
He added that the Chief Minister has shown that in a normal situation while anyone else suffering from a major health issue would have slept at home, he decided to come and table the Budget which is pro-people.
Speaking on the Budget, the minister said it focuses on health, employment and agriculture which is welcome. “It is a Budget which fulfils the aspirations of the people of Goa. We will ensure that the Budget is implemented,” he said.
