Co-operative sector set for Rs 650 crore boost

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that there is not enough awareness about the co-operative sector as he announced that the Centre is ready to fund Rs 650 cr in the sector annually.
He said the co-operative sector in Goa is set to get a boost with the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)  showing willingness to spend Rs 650 crore in the sector. 
“We have prepared an action plan. It will create jobs in the sector,” informed Sawant. He further  announced the govt’s plans to organise a workshop for co-op societies and others to create the much needed awareness.
