CoG wants to be present for lie detector test

Submit written memorandum to Crime Branch; SP Kashyap to discuss request with superiors

PANJIM: Citizens of Goa, the group leading the fight for justice for Fr Bismarque Dias, has demanded that a member from their forum be present at the time the lie detector test is conducted on the two prime witnesses in the case.
The group members submitted a written memorandum to the investigating agency on Saturday demanding that Kennedy Alfonso be allowed to be present at the time of test.
Sources at Crime Branch informed that a person can be allowed in such circumstances but he should either be a lawyer or should have a fair knowledge of law.
On Saturday, Citizens of Goa went to meet SP Crime Branch at Ribandar Head Quarters but were not able to meet SP Karthik Kashyap, as he was busy in investigations out of office.
Kashyap, confirmed to Herald that his office is in receipt of the memorandum from Citizens of Goa and it will discussed with his superiors for consideration.
Fr Bismarque Dias died on November 6 at St Estevam in mysterious circumstances.
It’s been a month now and the body has still not been claimed by the family for final rites.
They are demanding a thorough and speedy investigation in the case.
Kashyap informed that the viscera analysis report is expected soon and this will clear doubts on the cause of death.
He further said that the DNA test of the blood stains on the vest, which was recovered from the incident site, are expected by the end of this month. The samples have been sent to the centre for DNA and Forensic Laboratory, Hyderabad.
