Ponda: The Collem police have arrested one resident of the Dharbandora railway quarters for raping one girl under section 376 of the IPC Act.
According to the victim, the accused promised her marriage and that he had begun sexually exploiting herfor the last five years. She described in detail how the accused, a jeep driver first lured her when she was in the tenth standard to meet her at a closed railway quarters near his house and thereafter continued to sexually exploit her at various places at hotels.

She added that he had cheated her by promising to marry her and that lately he had been verbally abusing her and that she had to confront him at his place also.
She added that he had also mentally tortured her, interfered with her career prospects and that she had even attempted suicide in the past.
