COLVA: The Fama of Menino Jesus will be held at Our Lady of Merces Church, Colva, on October 18.

Parish Priest Fr Simpliciano Fernandes said due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation the Fama mass will be held October 18, at 7 am, which will be telecast live on CCRTV, YouTube and SAL TV. Thereafter, the miraculous statue of Menino Jesus will be brought down from the High Altar followed by “maddi” (blessing of banner).
“There will be a prayer to eradicate Coronavirus followed by general blessing of miraculous statue of Menino Jesus and placing of the statue on the High Altar. Nobody will be allowed to visit the altar on the Fama, Novena and feast days and few members of Confraria will ensure strict following of SOPs. The Novena Mass will be telecast live at 5.30 pm.
The live telecast of Feast Mass on October 28, will be held at 9.30 am,” said Fr Simpliciano.
Devotees and parishioners are requested to watch Fama, Novena and
Feast Day Masses live on social media mentioned above. The blessed chords and pictures will be available for sale at church counter (outside the church) on the Fama Day from 8.30 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 8 pm; on Novena days from 7 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 5 pm and on Feast Day from 9.30 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Fr Simpliciano said, “Menino Jesus is a great blessing for the people of Colva and those far and wide. His devotees are blessed with good health, prosperity and happiness.”
