Police began their investigations and zeroed down on the Dias mother-son duo based on the CCTV camera footage and began monitoring their movements. They were arrested at Birla and police recovered gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 10 lakhs from them. Besides, various instruments used for breaking into house like sickles were also found in their possession.
According to Colva Police Inspector the two have confessed to having committed a burglary by breaking into an alcohol shop in Mapusa last December which, he said, police are investigating.
