MAPUSA: Colvale sarpanch Babani Salgaonkar was voted out of office in a no-confidence motion, on Monday. Accordingly, a special meeting was convened which was presided over by Extension Officer Manohar Parwar. Panchayat Secretary Dipti Goltekar assisted Parwar.
During the meet, Deputy Sarpanch Ajakshya Phadte, Nityanand Kandolkar, Michael Fernandes, Radhika Bandekar and Sheetal Chodankar voted in favour of the motion while the remaining panchas namely Babani Salgaonkar, Dashrath Bicholkar, Ritesh Warkhandkar and Priyanka Bicholkar remained absent. The five panchas had accused the sarpanch of not taking them into confidence while taking decisions.
