BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday directed the government officials to immediately submit a report with every detail of losses faced by the villagers in Bicholim Taluka and directed them to immediately compensate the villagers.
During the review meeting at the office of Bicholim Deputy Collector, the Chief Minister told the officials to ensure that no application against damages should remain pending in terms of compensation.
The Electricity Department officials brought to notice of the Chief Minister that the department had suffered a loss of around Rs 60 lakh in Bicholim Taluka.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Bicholim Fire Personnel, working under the guidance of Officer Shripad Gawas, for doing a commendable job and appreciated the good work done by the Electricity Department staff and the officials to restore the power supply in the taluka.
As the gusty winds also caused heavy damage to betel nut, banana and other crops, the Chief Minister directed the Agriculture Officers to prepare and submit the detail report to compensate the farmers at the earliest.
He also assured to provide a vehicle to the Bicholim Agriculture Department.
The Chief Minister said that till the official compensation procedure is finalised, emergency fund will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to overcome house damages endured at primary level.
He also ordered immediate restoration of power supply.
Later, the Chief Minister along with Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar inspected the damaged electricity poles and houses in Mulgaon and assured instant help.
