MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik found himself in a spot with another complaint lodged against him with the Margao Town Police for being casteist and abusing a person by using his caste.
In a complaint lodged on Wednesday, Rajendra Ajgaonkar, who is the brother of Tourism Minister Babu Ajgaonkar, has stated that Siddhivinayak called him “chambar” in a derogatory manner and thus abusing him on caste line.
Ajgaonkar said that on Tuesday when he had gone to meet the chief officer along with around 100 members of the Vegetable, Readymade and Cloth Vendors Association, of which he is the president, the chief officer asked him to speak to the Director of Municipal Administration whom the CO had called on his mobile.
While he was talking to the Director, Ajgaonkar said the chief officer suddenly started abusing him “for not knowing how to speak” to the director and called him “chambar”.
In another complaint lodged with the police, Ashraf Pandial the secretary of the same association said the chief officer abused him and called him a “rastad”.
It may be recalled that a month September 23, scheduled tribe leader Camilo Barreto had also complained to the police against Siddhivinayak Naik stating that the chief officer had abused him on caste basis.
