PANJIM: The Goa Congress, commenting on the resignation of Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo, said it was sad that the BJP had targeted a person who always believed in high moral values.
Saying that he had never allowed Raj Bhavan to be a place of political conspiracy, the party in a statement said that it hoped that the new Governor to be appointed by the BJP would follow in his footsteps.
Congress spokesperson Durgadas Kamat said that he had called on Wanchoo at Raj Bhavan Saturday and called him one of the best Governors Goa had.
“I had a brief discussion with him over his two year tenure in Goa as Governor,” he said adding that he had conveyed to him that he had lot of memories in the state and would miss the people of the state as he would always interact with them directly.
