PANJIM: After newly constructed Pernem highway washed away exposing quality of work, Congress has demanded judicial inquiry into all the works undertaken by M/s M Venkata Rao Infra Pvt Ltd, who is also the contractor for highway expansion project.
In a press statement issued on Monday, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar expressed shock at the caving in and washout of a section of the newly built National Highway near Amere, Pernem.
Chodankar demanded judicial investigations into all the works carried out by M/s M Venkata Rao Infra Pvt Ltd (MVR) in Goa.
“This is an eye opener of massive loot by ‘son-in-law of BJP’. The contractor needs to be blacklisted,” he demanded further.
“It is time to launch a judicial inquiry to expose the illegal and ill-begotten ‘son-in-law of BJP’ and its string of corruption and favouritism,” Chodankar added. The party also demanded that State government should also launch expert inquiry into the road mishap.
