PANJIM: The Congress party has sought CCTV footage of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s official bungalow of February 5, to verify that the officer investigating the case against Ganshyam Malvankar case and SP of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) were called to the CM’s residence to settle the case. Malvankar is Parsekar’s brother-in-law and was arrested by ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.
Speaking to the media, Congress Secretary Durgadas Kamat said, “It is very clear that Parsekar is influencing the investigating agency using his position as CM. This is proved by the transfer of IO of the Malvankar case, SP of ACB and Director of Vigilance,” Kamat said.
Herald in its Tuesday edition had reported that the IO of the Malvankar case and SP of ACB were spotted at CM’s official residence on Friday with the Malvankar case files.
Kamat also demanded that an administrator be appointed at Goa Dairy if the government feels it is not in proper shape. He said that by appointing an administrator the dairy can be brought in shape but the government is instead getting in private dairies to benefit their kin and MLAs.
Kamat said the government has permitted SUMUL’s entry without following formalities. He said there is a lease agreement signed in 1982 between Goa Dairy, Goa government and National Dairy Development Board that no other dairy would be allowed in Goa for 90 years.
“Government is fully aware of the lease agreement and they will fall in trouble if any one approaches the court,” Kamat said.
