The party has also accused Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, who has in the past been very vocal about issues in his constituency, of being shushed by the government.
Speaking to media persons, Congress spokesperson Agnelo Fernandes said that Lobo had “been given a lollipop to keep quiet. From his silence it looks like there seems to be no issues on drugs and prostitution.”
He questioned the need to have the villages of Candolim and Calangute in the ODP. “How will this move help save Goa? It will only allow Goan builders to come and invade the land. The respective villages during their gram sabhas have already given suggestions in the Regional Plan, why the need for taking them to the ODPs?” he said. Lobo is the North Goa Planning Development Authority Chairman.
