Congress spokesman Avinash Tavares told reporters that the government has recently advertised more than 100 jobs in PWD and 500 jobs in Goan Human Resource Development Corporation, when hundreds of employees languishing in PWD Contract Society, as daily wage laborers and also in Goa Employees Recruitment Society.
“The BJP had time and again assured that their services would be regularized, but has failed to keep up its word. In the case of Recruitment Society, the then CM Parrikar had assured in the Assembly budget session that all the security guards of the society would be employed in GHRDC. Parrikar, as expected, did a U-turn. The 500 posts advertised yesterday is a betrayal of all the recruitment society guards who are waiting to get inducted in GHRSC,” Tavares alleged.
“The 500 posts of security guards hint at a larger scam involving training of the guards. These security guards are sent for three months residential training to India Eye Security Services. This agency is paid a whopping Rs 50,000 per guard for the training. This is a huge scam since these guards can be trained in Goa itself for a fraction of the cost,” Tavares pointed out.
He warned the government that if it went ahead with the recruitment, the Congress would take action against this fraudulent recruitment including filing a complaint before the Lokayukta for corruption and malpractices.
“BJP is denying reservations to OBC, ST and SC. In today’s paper, a corrigendum has been published by GPSC regarding posts of principals. But in the original advertisement, the posts were shown as separate and distinct,” informed Tavares.
Tavares has filed a complaint with the chief secretary demanding that the recruitment be cancelled since the five posts were advertised with the intention to deny reservation. The corrigendum has clubbed the five posts but has not reserved any for OBC, ST or SC, he said.
