PANJIM: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Saturday claimed that Congress wave has started to build-up across the State with people looking at the party as an only alternative.
Speaking to the media persons, Kamat said that the party is getting tremendous response from the people across all 40 Assembly constituencies.

“Slowly, the Congress wave has started building up. People are looking at us with a hope…hope for change…people are looking at us as an alternative…from the kind of response we are getting, we are confident that the people have decided to bring Congress back to power,” the former chief minister said.
Kamat said that the people have started to compare the governance under the Congress and BJP. “The Congress government of five years was full of prosperity whereas the BJP government’s 10 years have been of poverty,” he commented. Meanwhile, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar said that the party is planning to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.
“BJP cheated the people of Goa by telling lies. And hence, the people of Sanquelim also will teach a lesson to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in the upcoming elections,” he stated.
“Several leaders are joining the Congress in Goa as they look at the party as hope against the BJP. People have decided to defeat the BJP in the next elections in the State and the pulse is in favour of the Congress,” he added.
The leaders said that more people are likely to join the party fold in coming days.
