“The victim girl should get justice in this case, and this case should not be dumped with high-level pressure,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) general secretary Janardhan Bhandari said.

Bhandari said that so many days have passed since the formal complaint was lodged by the victim, but no action has been taken by the police.

A woman from Mormugao taluka had filed a police complaint against the PSI attached to the Mormugao police station for raping and cheating her. A case has been registered under Section 376, 420, 323, 506-ii and 427 of IPC.

“The Police department has failed to arrest and suspend the accused PSI. Instead of arresting and suspending the accused, the PSI was transferred from Mormugao police station to South District Reserve line. Why is the special treatment being given to this PSI?” Goa Pradesh Youth Congress (GPYC) president Adv Varad Mardolkar questioned.
