PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the newly built Goa Rajya Kar Bhavan for the department of sales taxes at Altinho, Panjim on Friday.
On the occasion, GST Council member and Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (GSIDC) vice-chairman and MLA Joshua D’Souza, Panjim MLA Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate, Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, Principal Secretary Puneet Kumar, Agriculture Secretary Chokha Ram Garg, Commissioner of State Tax Hemant Kumar, Corporation of City of Panjim (CCP) Mayor Rohit Monserrate and other dignitaries were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said that though the State exchequer suffered a lot during COVID-19 pandemic but the government has managed somehow. He appealed to those who have not paid their taxes to file their returns on time and cooperate with the government, who he added, will help them to resolve their issues, if any.
The new building will provide people-friendly facilities with its modernised infrastructure, he said and appreciated the GSIDC for its endeavour to construct the best state-of-the-art building, which will also house the Excise Department.
