PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Thursday accused Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar of being ‘insensitive’ and ‘“immature’ in dealing with the ongoing controversy related to iron ore transportation.
“Chief Minister is insensitive and immature to comment on the mining crisis. He should govern the State properly so that there are less agitations for the rights of the people,” GPCC spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar said.
He was reacting to the chief minister’s statement on the Congress supporting the truck owners where Parsekar had said that Congress was left with no other work than to agitate.
Kawthankar stated that they have been fighting for justice. “Goans should not be allowed to suffer more by the BJP government. The CM’s tongue is longer than his kurta,” he said.
Kavthankar stated that the chief minister has been passing comments only to prolong the issues being raised. He added, “There is no use of flaunting a post graduate degree in mining when you cannot solve the problems in the department.”
A Congress delegation, led by State unit president Luizinho Faleiro had met the chief minister on Wednesday seeking an immediate solution to the ore transportation crisis.
Meanwhile, Congress appointed ten new secretaries including its former MLA Dayanand Sopte.
