PANJIM: With a view to help people of Goa during the ongoing crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has launched control rooms and helplines under the Chairmanship of GPCC Vice President Dr Pramod Salgaocar.
Dr Salgaocar said that the control rooms and helplines are launched as part of a National Programme of All India Congress Committee, to combat the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are releasing helpline number 7066196131 (of Congress leader Everson Vales) and people may also miss call number 02249558099. Needy people alternately can call any members of the 12-member committee,” she added.
She added that they had identified some NGOs who wish to work for the cause and they will assist people who need help to tackle the situation.
She informed that Youth Congress will be handling ground support under the leadership of Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar.
“All frontal organisations Seva Dal, Mahila Congress and National Student Union of India (NSUI) will assist the teams. Both District offices will be used as control rooms and District presidents will monitor the activities,” Salgaocar added.
She said that the initiative is not to take any political mileage, but for the service to mankind.
